It was
occasion of national science day. Except me and Tanmay Tembhurne all our
classmates decided to make science project, whereas we decided to sell Clay
models, paintings and other art made by students of our school. I planned
the activity with Deepshri Ma’am. The fund generated would from this
selling would be given to a charity. I and Tanmay contributed in this activity
for this great cause. This was a new challenge I undertook. I had never
done selling in my whole life, but I always observed salesmen’s selling
techniques. How they persuade the buyer to buy the product, how they did the
marketing of the product. They always use sweet language to make an impact in
the buyers mind. They go to any limit to convince the buyer. I always admired
their work.
It was great
responsibility because only we two were responsible for the sale of whole
stock.
We opened and customer started come. I took a deep breath and approached
the customers. I met many type of people. Some wanted clay model, some asked
for paintings and some just looked at everything and didn’t buy anything. This
activity was very tiring as it is difficult to say “Good morning Sir/Ma’am” and
further explaining each and every art piece. Though I did it because of the
great cause and after some time I started to enjoy it as I got better with it.
After some time I started to enjoy it and felt like a professional who can sell
anything. I persuaded many people to by art pieces of high price so that more
fund could be generated for charity.
I showed perseverance and commitment in
this activity. My Economics teacher also made a visit after looking at my
enthusiasm he said “Shafqat with this brain power, you can convince anybody and
you can sell anything” This activity was a success and we raised fund of 2290
ruppes. I worked collaboratively with Tanmay for this activity.
